Borgo del Convento lies in the Serre mountains of Vibo Valentia, in the Serra San Bruno area: woods, stone and silence. It is the venue I recommend to couples who want an elopement or a small wedding away from the coast and the August heat.
I have photographed an elopement and an intimate wedding here: both worked because the place asks for no added set design. The surrounding forest gives the images natural depth and the borgo's stone returns a texture you only find in the Calabrian mountains.
It is also the right choice for the hot months: at altitude the temperature stays liveable and the light filtered by the trees lets me work all afternoon without fighting contrast.
Request a quoteThe light. The forest is a giant diffuser: you can shoot at any hour. For portraits I look for the shafts of light between the trees, which draw the couple as if on a stage.
