Cosenza is Calabria's most cultured city and its old town is a natural theatre: the UNESCO-listed cathedral, Corso Telesio, the Swabian Castle overlooking the meeting of two rivers. For a reportage photographer it is a wonderful maze of light, stone and hidden corners.

And the Sila plateau is only half an hour away: forests, lakes and highlands that turn to gold in autumn. Many of my couples choose exactly this double register — urban elegance and wild nature — for a wedding story unlike any other.
