Amantea is a village flowing from its fortress down to the sea: castle ruins and ancient churches above, kilometres of beach below where the sun sets right in front of you. On the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza it delivers some of the most spectacular skies I have ever photographed.

My reportage here plays on two levels: the intimacy of the old town's alleys and the boundless openness of the coast, with Stromboli often appearing on the horizon to bless the wedding.
